In the unfortunate event of a medical emergency, Malibu Coast Animal Hospital is equipped with trained and compassionate staff, in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiography and ultrasound for urgent diagnostics, state-of-the-art patient monitoring systems, and ICU Unit for supportive care.

Our doctors are available for walk-in or call-ahead emergencies seven days per week during normal business hours and are available for our patients after normal business hours, or on holidays, through our emergency answering service.

Symptoms indicating the need for immediate medical attention may include:

  • Blue, Grey or White gums

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Persistent or frequent seizures

  • Ingestion of a poison, household chemical, or human or animal medication

  • Rattlesnake bite

  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
